Vaujany is an idyllic Alpine village nestled in the French Alps in the famous ski region of Alpe d’Huez. The village is linked to the huge Alpe d’Huez ski region via a fast 160 person gondola. Vaujany is the ideal base for all levels of ski-ing or boarding, learners, mixed ability groups or advanced off piste. What’s more in the summer Vaujany provides an ideal base for mountain biking, road racing, hiking, rock climbing, fishing and other outdoor activities.
Vaujany is a compact resort and you certainly won’t need a car when you are here to get around. The resort is brilliantly linked from the top of the village to the bottom of the village by a combination of escalators and lifts. To walk from the leisure complex at the very bottom of the village to the restaurant and shops at the top of the village takes no more than 10 minutes.
Vaujany has it’s own superb lift system which links you in the huge Alpe d’Huez area. You can get from 1200m to 2800m in less than 10 minutes on the 160 man gondola or if you want quiet, tree lined runs then head up the Monfrais bubble lift and you’ll be on the slopes in minutes.
There are a number of bars and restaurants in the resort to enjoy the apres ski or summer sunshine.

Under new owners and now called Djimmi's– think gourmet burgers and Belgian beer! Always a lively atmosphere and a favourite for locals and tourists alike.
Located right above the ice skating rink this lovely restaurant serves traditional French cuisine. With stunning views out to La Fare waterfall and La Fare Black run.
Located at the top of the village, Le Chalet Gourmand is renown for it’s wood fired oven pizzas and traditional Alpine atmosphere. Great views and drinks on the sunny terrace are the order when its warm.
Relax after a day of activities at the local leisure centre and keep the kids entertained. The pool itself is Olympic size with a superb, long kids tube slide (think Centerparcs!) and kiddies paddling area. The pool backs out onto a lovely sunny terrace so you can sunbathe on the loungers whilst the kids wear themselves out.
Completed in 2014 Vaujany now has a world class Ice Skating Rink complex with views overlooking the La Fare ski run. Bring the kids for a skate and then catch one of the ice hockey matches that Vaujany regularly hosts.
New to Vaujany from 2014 is the excellent 4 lane bowling alley above the ice skating rink. Afterwards you can head straight upstairs to the lovely Le Stou restaurant for a celebratory beer on the sunny balcony
