Info updated 15th January 2022 (for UK Guests)

All adults and children over 12 years and 2 months will need to use the French 'pass sanitaire' to access the ski lifts. For anyone over 16, as long as you are double vaccinated and have had your third booster jab you can easily download the app that is used for the pass sanitaire -  'TousAntiCovid' and upload your vaccination status using a QR code which is produced when you request an NHS Travel Covid Pass in your NHS app.

Full instructions here :

How do I get a pass via the NHS app?

  1. Download the TousAntiCovid app to your iPhone or Android device from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store
  1. Download the NHS app (not the NHS Covid-19 app) to your iPhone or Android device from the App Store or Play Store
  1. Open the NHS app. On the Home page tap “Get your NHS Covid Pass”, then tap “Continue”. On the Get your NHS Covid pass page tap “Travel”, then tap “Show details”. Take a screenshot of your QR code. Send the screenshot of your QR code to another device nearby such as a family member’s mobile phone or a laptop or print it off. You’ll need to scan it later with your mobile phone camera.
  1. Open the TousAntiCovid app. Tap “Open my wallet”, “Add a certificate”, then scan the QR code that you saved earlier from the NHS app.
  1. Your TousAntiCovid will now display a “health pass” in the form of a QR code that can be scanned to enter locations across France.

UK Children aged 12 years and 2 months to 15 inclusive

For children aged 12 to 15 this causes some potential issues as currently UK children in this age group cannot use the NHS app.  Therefore, if you are travelling to France with UK children aged 12 to 15, and they are single vaccinated, you will need to get a Covid test in resort every 24 hours in order to use the 'TousAntiCovid' app.

There is currently a workaround for single vaccinated children aged 12 to 15 that have tested positive for Covid in the last 6 months.  If you bring proof of this (GP Letter or NHS Text/Email) along with proof of single jab (their NHS Vaccination Card) then you can get a QR code for the Pass Sanitaire app from the Pharmacie in Bourg Oisans (20 minute drive).

Address below:  Pharmacie Dupre

4 Rue du Général de Gaulle, 38520 Le Bourg-d'Oisans, France

You can email the Pharmacy in advance (pharma.de38@gmail.com) with proof and they will have it ready for you to collect.  There is a charge of c€30 per child.   We strongly suggest you email the pharmacy in advance to check that they are still providing this service and that your proof is acceptable.

If your 12-15 year old is double vaccinated, the government has recently announced that you can get a NHS Covid Pass letter that would also be accepted in the Pharmacie in Bourg Oisans and enable you to get your QR code for the Pass Sanitaire app.   See here for more details on how to get the letter : https://www.gov.uk/government/news/nhs-covid-pass-for-12-15-year-olds-for-international-travel

If you are unable to get a Pass Sanitaire via the above methods, then you can get one every 24 hours via a Covid Test whilst in Vaujany. The closest place to get these done currently is in Allemond (10 min drive) You can get these done at the Infirmary in Allemont (same building as the Doctors surgery) 8am until 9am – Rapid Flow and PCR.   The Doctors Surgery in Allemond from 9am to 10am, no appointment needed - Rapid Flow and PCR.   Alternatively, you could ski down to the Pharmacy in Alpe d’Huez and get your child’s test done there.
