Vaujany

Vaujany is part of the huge Alpe d’Huez ski area located in the heart of the French Alps. The village is at a height of 1200m and is just one hour from the city of Grenoble. We’ll email you detailed instructions of how to get here once you’ve booked but for an idea of the options check out the below information.

Transfers

By Plane

The closest airport to Vaujany is Grenoble Airport, just a 1 hour 15 minute transfer along easy roads. There are plenty of hire car options at the airport also. Other airports we recommend are Lyon, Chambery and Geneva. See below for approximate transfer times.

Self

Drive

It’s a straightforward drive from Calais and do-able in a day although our guests often break it up with an overnight stay near Dijon or Macon. Head towards Grenoble and by that point you are about an hour away. Then follow the signs to stations de l’Oisans and Bourg d’Oisans. We’ll send you detailed directions when you book with us. The great thing about driving to Vaujany is that the final leg of getting up to the resort is straightforward with good roads and not too many hairpins.

Train

Getting the train is an option definitely worth considering. From May 2015 you can now get a direct train from London to Lyon. The service runs once a week in the winter and 5 times a week in the summer. Alternatively you can use the TGV service from Paris to Grenoble Station – from there it’s a one-hour transfer to the resort.
